The University of Bradford is a public, plate glass university located in the city of Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. The university received its Royal Charter in 1966, making it the 40th university to be created in Britain, but its origins date back to the early 19th century. There are two campuses: the main campus located on Richmond Road and the School of Management, at Emm Lane.
The student population includes 8,045 undergraduate and 2,915 postgraduate students. Mature students make up around a third of the undergraduate community. 22 percent of students are foreign, and come from over 110 different countries. There were 14,406 applications to the university through UCAS in 2010, of which 3,421 were accepted.

English language
If your first language is not English, you will need to provide proof of your English proficiency before you can be admitted onto any of our undergraduate or postgraduate courses.
Alternatively, you can study a pre-sessional English language course with us here in Bradford.
The standard University requirement is 6.0 with no sub-test less than 5.0 or equivalent on the IELTS or on the university's own entry test the BASALT.
However, if you require a Tier 4 student visa to study you will need to meet the UK Visas and Immigration UKVI department's requirement which is currently IELTS 6.0 with no sub-test less than 5.5. Conditional offers to international students will be made on this basis.
Private accommodation
Compared to most university towns and cities in the UK, privately rented accommodation in Bradford is relatively inexpensive.
There are a range of privately rented houses and apartments located within walking distance of City Campus, with average weekly rates of around £50-£55 (excluding bills).
